West Chester University’s fraternity and sorority life has seen an enormous amount of growth in the past few months. There has been growth in almost all of the 26 total fraternities and sororities on campus. Pahellenic Council kicked this off by having more 600 women register for sorority recruitment, a record-breaking number on WCU’s campus. After two exciting weekends of formal recruitment, the Panhellenic Council held their Bid Day Ceremony on the Great Lawn for the first time, where more than 400 women accepted bids.

A few weeks later, the newest addition to the Greek community, Alpha Sigma Alpha, held their bid day and gave out 77 bids, bringing the total amount of women in the Panhellenic community to almost 1,200.

The Interfraternity Council recently held their own recruitment adding about 150 men to their community, bringing the total to almost 600 men. The Black and Latino Greek Council held “Meet the Greeks” this past Thursday, and with all the interest, the Greek community is excited to see how their community will grow further.
