Remember when Incubus wrote songs that were not blatant political statements? What about when the Stone Temple Pilots, before Scott Weiland was in rehab, played music that was meaningful yet aggressive? Somewhere between these two musical experiences is the soulful sound of Ruse of Fools.
Hailing from Buckingham, Pa., Ruse of Fools is one of the hottest performing acts in the tri-state area. They recently received first place at the 2004 Doylestown Y2C Music and Arts Festival. The band has been eatured at such hot clubs as: Big Nick's Saloon and Club DECO in Philadelphia, Katmandu in Trenton and The Village Pub in New York. Ruse of Fools performs original music that utilizes a three guitar set-up. The group's combination of alternative and experimental rock gives them a unique sound that sets them apart from other bands. Ruse of Fools' latest album is entitled Film Noir.
Mark Gonzalez's haunting lead vocals combined with CJ Keener's eclectic sounds bring an interesting sound to the opening song, "Masquerade." Bob Cicak, Jon Stockwell and Lee Dash provide amazing guitar, bass, and drum work to the entire album. Film Noir is a fun and refreshing addition to the rock world.
