Homecoming Safety Tips

1. Know your environment and be aware of your surroundings.

2. If you're going to a party, have a plan in advance for how to get home safely.

3. Pace yourself to about 1 drink per hour.

4. Travel in a group with trusted friends-with at least one who stays sober.

5. Avoid drinking games.

6. Eat something shortly before you go out.

7. Bring along a water bottle or other non-alcoholic beverage.

8. Never leave your drink unattended.

9. Keep track of drinks consumed. 0-4 for females, 0-5 for males.

10. Know the warning signs for alcohol poisoning (vomiting, blue lips or nail beds, irregular or slow breathing, passed out and hard to awaken) and call an ambulance if you see these signs in someone.
