As halftime approached the members from many student organizations were represented by their organization's nominees for King and Queen.
As they proceeded down the track, students cheered for those nominated from their student group. The nominated organizations included: Student Government Association, Black Student Union, Habitat for Humanity, Phi Sigma Pi, Residence Hall Association, Student Activities Council, Latin American Student Organization, the Marching Band, The Abbeys and The Friars, Inter-Greek Council, University Theater and Off Campus Commuter Association.
All of the nominations were announced by Dr. Adler and Gail Shister, the Homecoming Grand Marshal, and a renowned TV columnist for the Philadelphia Inquirer. Following recognition to the 2005 Homecoming King, Jason Mazzerle, the 2006 Homecoming court nominees were announced.
Rayon Fulton of the Black Student Union was given the crown for Homecoming King and the crown for queen went to Carmen Lobo of the Latin American Student Organization.
Not only were the 2006 Homecoming King and Queen awarded, but there were also awards for the winners of Homecoming. Coming in at first place, winning $500.00 was the University Theater. At second place for $300.00 was Kappa Delta Rho and Delta Zeta. Finally, the third place award went to the Latin American Student Organization. The final award of the day went to the winners of the Banner Spirit Contest, Black Student Union.
If fans wanted a break from watching the game, there were many businesses in attendance to offer students different products as they entered and left the stadium. Verizon had their own booth to introduce their new service, Verizon FiOS Internet. Students were able to win free black Verizon FiOS tee shirt through filling out an information card, and helping in the selection process for an upcoming Verizon project. Students watched a short clip of an actor or actress, and designated one they liked on the bottom of their information card, before receiving a shirt.
Planet Beach tanning salons were also at the stadium to give students special offers on memberships to their salon. Guest passes were handed out and two winners were announced during the game for a free tanning membership. There was also a personal greeting card company, "Personacards" in attendance to create individual cards for students and alumni.
Along with the company stands, there were also WCU retailers there to sell clothing for students to show their school spirit during Homecoming. WCU mesh shorts, tee shirts and baseball hats were on sale throughout the entire game.
If game-watchers didn't have a chance to stop down to one of the stands, many were able to win shirts during the game, as they were thrown out during half-time to the crowd.
Half time concluded with performances from both the Cheyney University Band and the WCU Marching Band. Alumni and their families were invited to attend the Homecoming Alumni Social following the game. There were also many other celebrations for Alumni and students going on around the stadium to celebrate West Chester University's Homecoming 2006.

I read the article titled "Live From WCU: Homecoming 2006". Did this author go to the event? What about the incredible performances by the WCU Golden Rams Marching Band, the talented and fun 50 piece alumni band, the cheerleaders who were doing 50+ push-ups due to the high score, the parade?
