The Rotary Club of West Chester held the Fourth Annual Chili Cook Off on Sunday between Gay and High Street and Gay and New Street. The festivities started at noon and lasted until 4:00 p.m. and about 3,500 people attended the event.

The cook-off is divided into four divisions: restaurants, businesses, non-profit organizations and hometown cooks. Over 50 teams entered the competition. West Chester restaurants such as Iron Hill, Kildare's and Ryan's Pub participated, as well as area businesses, churches and fire companies.

The Rotary Club wanted to host an event that involves the community, including businesses, organizations and residents. Businesses are able to promote themselves as well as have team building. The hometown cook division allows individuals to compete as well.

All proceeds benefit the Rotary Club and 25 area sponsors supported the event. Jeannie McGinn, a Rotary Club representative, said that the sponsors give the foundation for this event and that the cook-off would not be possible without them. Three bands-Greystone Ramblers, 30 Years After and The Swing Kings-performed throughout the day.
