WCU student arrested, charged for stabbing of two on TKE property

A fight at 626 South High St. on Saturday night resulted in the stabbing of men and sending*- both to area hospitals with injuries.

According to the West Chester Borough Police Department, officers responded to a reported fight at the Tau Kappa Epsilon (TKE) house on S. High Street. As onlookers dispersed, police found an 18 year-old male who had suffered a stab wound to the stomach lying on the ground. The male, who was not identified by Police, was flown to the University of Pennsylvania Hospital where he was treated and admitted for his wounds.

Approximately four hours later, at 12:49 a.m., a 20-year-old male sought treatment at Chester County Hospital for stab wounds to his side. The male reported that he sustained the injury during the same fight at 626 S. High St. He was treated and admitted for his injuries.

WCU sophomore 19-year-old David Walters of Honey Brook, Pa. was arrested and charged with two counts of aggravated assault, two counts of simple assault, two counts of recklessly endangering another person and one count of possessing an instrument of a crime.

Walters was in process of pledging and was scheduled to be initiated the following morning.

At press time, the investigation was on-going and a preliminary hearing was pending.
