After 27 games this season, the West Chester Lady Rams softball team continues their battle with a frustrating .500 record and trying to form any sort of winning consistency. After a very promising seven game win streak in early March that rocketed the Lady Rams' record to a very respectable 9-2, West Chester took a serious tumble, losing seven of their next eight by a combined score of 13-47.

Yet despite facing the disappointing setback of a10-9 record, the Lady Rams strung together four straight wins, scoring 28 runs to the opponent's nine, bumping their record to 14-9. Though yet again, the Lady Rams struggled to find bat consistency, dropping back to back double headers. The losing streak included two losses against a below average East Stroudsburg team, in which the Lady Ram bats were kept silent, only scoring one run combined in both games.

Relying on the steady arm of ace pitcher Shannon Padula, who is 10-9 with a 2.71 ERA, the Lady rams' woes are not the cause of poor pitching, but of the streakiness of their offense.

If West Chester wants to become a serious team in then PSAC eastern division, they will need to start their offensive machine Wednesday, in a doubleheader against first place division foe Bloomsburg.

It's the next few division battles that will show if the Lady Rams have what takes to make a run for the division championship.
