V CAST Mobile brings TV to cell phones

Have you ever found yourself getting out of a night class early but not having enough time to get back to your apartment to watch the end of your favorite TV show? Wouldn't it be great if you could tune into your favorite TV shows or latest news no matter where you are?

With a new service called V CAST Mobile TV, from Verizon Wireless, you'll never miss a second!

V CAST Mobile TV will allow television junkies the opportunity to leave their home and still watch many of their favorite shows while on the go. This service will feature the best of broadcast and cable television with live content and other programming 24 hours a day from many of the worlds best known stations. Stations include, CBS, Comedy Central, FOX, MTV, NBC News, NBC Entertainment and Nickelodeon. These channels offer a wide variety of options for all ages. Additional channels are expected to be added to the lineup as the service expands.

Two new Mobile TV-capable handsets will be available to Verizon Wireless customers. The first phone is the Samsung SCH-u620; the screen size on this device is 2"x2" and is priced at $149.99 after a $50 mail-in rebate. The second phone is an LG VX9400 with a screen size of 2.2" x 2.2." That is priced at $199.99 after a $50.00 mail-in rebate. Each of these phones contain the V CAST Music, V CAST Video, Mobile 2.0sm and Get It Now features, so customers can have the full multimedia experience.

Verizon's V CAST launched as the first third-generation wireless multimedia service for wireless consumers in 2005. This feature allows subscribers to download high-quality videos, news, sports, entertainment clips and 3-D games to Verizon Wireless handsets. The V CAST music feature provides access to a 1.3 million song catalog for downloading music directly to your handset over the network. Customers can also download songs onto their computers and transfer the songs onto their phones.

According to Verizon Wireless, V CAST Mobile TV is available by monthly fee in packages. You can purchase four channels for $13 per month, or eight channels for $15 per month. You can also combine all eight channels with access to the V CAST multimedia service for $25 per month.

So, the next time you find yourself sitting in Sykes with nothing to do, or in the library in need of a study break, just think, you could be catching up on some of your favorite TV shows without having to pack up your things and move to another location.
