"It has been our life-long dream," commented Marisa Powell, co-founder and owner of Pietro's Prime Steakhouse, when asked about the restaurant and its opening.
Pietro's Prime is located at 125 West Market St. It is West Chester's newest and only steakhouse. There is available parking, as it is located adjacent to a garage lot.
Pietro N. Giunta, the restaurant's namesake, found his way to America in 1908. He was in search of the highly sought after "American Dream."
In 1927, Giunta created what has become a Giunta family legacy in the food business.
After Giunta passed away in 1959, his three sons, Frank, Tony and Sam, ran the business. The food market was located at the corner Darlington and Biddle Street.
Grandson Frank J. Giunta Jr. and his wife, Nina, further developed the business at 607 West Market St. in 1976.
By 1991, the Giunta Thriftway opened in Bradford Plaza. Regrettably, the market was forced to close in 2005.
Although the closing of the Giunta Thriftway impacted many locals throughout West Chester, Pietro's Prime Steakhouse was able to evolve out of the changes made by Frank and Nina's daughter and son-in-law, Marisa Giunta Powell and Chef Sean Power.
"It is a true testament to the Giunta Family Spirit," Frank Jr. stated.
Pietro's Prime offers quality marbleized steaks and chops along with an excellent freshly prepared seafood selection. Pietro's proudly serves only Pureland Premium Black Angus Beet. It is strictly corn-fed beef from DNA-tested Angus cattle raised on family ranches.
Pietro's offers a House Signature USDA Prime Bone-in- Rib Filet, with a variety of sides a la carte.
"The food is great, we will definitely be back," fourth-year WCU students Sean Sanguinetti and Tracy Ecklund said.
The family owned and operated restaurant pays tribute to those nearest and dearest to their hearts with the uniquely named Martini list. Each drink holds the name of a friend or family member, rather than the traditional drink title.
The wine list is of a superb caliber. It features a variety of wines individually tasted and selected from areas across the globe.
Pietro's also prides itself on its closely knit staff. Together, they form a family of employees excited and willing to continue the spirit. They are friendly and helpful, as well as highly experienced.
The bar atmosphere provides for great conversation, and there is never a dull moment to spare.
With private, outdoor and patio dining areas offered, the warm atmosphere and excellent service add to Pietro's upscale dining experience.
Pietro's Prime is open Monday through Wednesday, 11:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., Thursday through Saturday, 11:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. and Sunday dining availability from 4:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m.
On behalf of the Giunta Family, "We hope you enjoy being our guests for many years to come!"
