Contemporary Issues, an organization that holds diverse presentations for the students of WCU, invited Keni Thomas, a popular country singer and war hero to speak to the students of WCU on Tuesday, Nov. 27. Despite the small turnout of interested students, the presentation and vocal performance Thomas gave was not to be missed.
Are you a frustrated but aspiring filmmaker? Would you do anything to get your film picked up by a distributor and viewed in theaters across the nation? Canadian filmmakers Karl DiPelino and Chris Ragonetti feel your pain; five years ago, they began shooting their first independent feature-film titled "PiGs.
While most of this music flew a little below the radar this year, and admittedly, not everyone will find everything on this list enjoyable, I do think that there is something on this list that everybody can tolerate. And even if you only take my word for it, they're all worth listening to.
Finally, the season for high-quality films has begun. That cold, crisp autumn air compels moviegoers to the theaters for films that stand out amongst the traditional fare. Granted, this summer had some high marks, but ultimately, nothing truly stood out amongst the herd.
