Ferguson named to first team All-Region by Daktronics

The postseason accolades continue to pile up for Golden Rams standout senior linebacker Lateef Ferguson.
It was announced Wednesday Nov. 28 that Ferguson, West Chester's leading tackler and two time defending PSAC East defensive player of the year, was named to the Daktronics All-Northeast Region first team for the second year in a row. Ferguson was judged by Sports Information directors in the Northeast Region as the top inside linebacker in the region.
Ferguson in 2007 became the leading tackler in school history, surpassing fellow linebacker and former San Francisco 49ers standout Lee Woodall. The senior from Philadelphia finished his collegiate career with 414 tackles, 244 of which were solos, also a school record and ferguson also became the first linebacker in school history to post 100 tackles for three seasons wearing purple and gold.
In addition to Ferguson earning top honors at the inside linebacker position, three other Golden Rams earned spots on the second team.
Fellow senior and defensive captain Mike Mignogno's strong play earned him a spot on the team. Offensively, junior wide receiver Mike Washington and senior guard Ryan Devlin also received honors. Washington tallied 1,160 yards receiving, placing him sixth nationally, in addition to his career low, 12 touchdowns. No. 85 has caught 43 touchdowns in his career and is the all-time leading receiver in school history, with 3,515 yards.
