Speaker continues Martin Luther King's dream

Barry Scott, a man who makes his living as an actor and voice-over artist, visited West Chester University on Wednesday night as part of his advocation of educating and inspiring students about the life and work of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Students congregated in the Asplundh Concert Hall to hear Scott reflect on his own experiences growing up as an African-American child in Nashville and how his life seemed to be inextricably linked to the life of Dr.

PASSHE cancels presidential search

The Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education (PASSHE) Chancellor Judy Hample with the consultation of the Board of Governors and the Presidential Search Committee of WCU has decided to halt the search for the next University president and to continue at a later time.

New $106 million residence hall project begins

The West Chester University Housing Renewal Initiative commenced on Jan. 2 to change the face and usage of the residential quad and Hollinger Field with the construction of a $106 million residence hall project. Many students moving back to their residence halls at the beginning of the semester were shocked to find heavy construction equipment, trailers in the residential quad and Hollinger field unavailable for use.

Adler: 'It's been a great ride'

President Madeleine Wing Adler began her final semester at West Chester University on Jan. 14 and sat down for an exclusive interview with The Quad. At the conclusion of the 2007 Spring semester, Adler announced her decision to retire in front of a group of students at the recently opened SOMPAC building, after her 16th year at WCU.
