The West Chester University men's and women's swim teams are coming off of successful meets in the early going of the 2008 season. The men recently split a meet against Johns Hopkins University and The College of New Jersey. Meanwhile the Lady Rams continued their perfect 5-0 start to the season by sweeping Hopkins and TCNJ.

West Chester, led by Ben Kuntz's victories in two events, and qualification for nationals in both events, while setting the school record. West Chester extended its record to 4-1 by defeating the Lions. In addition to Kuntz's two victories, senior Chris Salomone also won two events for WCU, in both the 500 freestyle, with a time of 4:43:37 and the 1650 freestyle clocking in at 16:30:18.

Meanwhile, the Lady Rams were led by Jackie Borkowski earned victories in three of West Chester's 10 wins in swimming and diving last Friday and Saturday.

Borkowski's wins came in the 100-yard freestyle, 200 free, 100 backstroke and was a catalyst for West Chester in the events. Kristen McCabe, Erin Fischer and Megan Bauer all earned victories as West Chester swept both Johns Hopkins and TCNJ.

Both squads are off until they travel to Penn State to take on the Nittany Lions in a non-league meet on Jan. 25.
