As it slowly approaches, couples are planning their romantic night out. They begin to think of ways to impress their partner and need to find words that can sustain that effervescent feeling. Passion and support are two of the many words that can be associated with the holiday. On Thursday, February 14, 2008, Valentine's Day arrives. And couples will show their passion and support for one another by going out to dinner and spending quality time together. It is a beautiful thing to see two people care so much for each other. Yet it is even better when the bond they share grows and becomes more prevalent to those around them.

Wouldn't it be nice if every bond was as powerful as the one shared by those who celebrate Valentine's Day together? Wouldn't it be nice if people showed as much support for people they have many things in common with, but may not know, as they do for their best friends and closest relatives? Wouldn't it be nice if Hollinger Field House was packed to capacity to watch a basketball team that can win over a crowd in a heart beat and just leave you wanting more? It most certainly would be.

The heart and soul of the team, senior guard and captain Catherine Andrews, earlier in the year went on record saying this West Chester University Lady Golden Rams basketball team will be a force to be reckoned with. So far Andrews' billing of the team has been right on point.

Currently sitting in second place, the Lady Rams are flying high. They are winners of five of their last seven contests. Yet for all of their success this season, they still have not received the support they deserve. In a game that may last no longer than two hours on a given night, fans can witness the spectacular. They can witness a group of 15 ladies that can take your breath away, steal your heart and mesmerize you with a smooth, scintillating song called basketball. Sounds like that special girl every guy dreams of being with on Valentines Day, doesn't it?

Last year, Head Coach Deirdre Kane and her team made the playoffs only to fall victim to a first round knockout. But the end of that season was the beginning of something special. When the 2007-2008 campaign began, the Lady Rams came out of the gate on fire winning their first five contests. Things cooled down a bit and an injury to star senior forward Katie Kline did not help matters.

Almost immediately following Kline's injury, the team had to face the toughest stretch of their schedule without their premiere scorer. And as quickly as things seemed to go downhill for the team their fortunes turned around just as quickly. Now here we stand, approximately one week from a stretch of games that can ignite a team that has found their groove and their own identity at just the right time. Hollinger Field House is where it ended last year. Hollinger Field House is where it begins this year.
