The founders Zukin Realtors plan to also increase parking in the garage from 413 spaces to 700 allowing more worry-free parking to accommodate their guests as well in the new building plans.
The hotel will offer many new opportunities to the campus and visiting parents during the school term. Being that the hotel is only six blocks from main campus, visiting parents will have the opportunity to stay in the luxury hotel affiliated with the Marriott and gain better access to visiting their children at the University.
The building will include Spence Café, a drive through Rite Aid on the first floor, high speed internet, concierge and room services, and many other exciting editions as well as a catering service what more could you ask for?
The condos will also be able to use many of the same features as the hotel including a dry cleaning service and their sizes and comfort will be very accommodating to those who chose them as their residency when they are available.
The hotel will be very reminiscent to that of the old Eagle Hotel circa 1890 that once was placed in the town.
Zukin realtors, the group behind the hotel, has restored much of the town of West Chester in the past years, and owns 12 of the restaurant properties occupying the town including Kooma, Albertos and the soon to come Salad Works.
According to the owner of Zukin Realtors, Stan Zukin, "We are probably the largest restorer of West Chester properties," Zukin said. "I tell people all the time my job is like a little kid playing monopoly and my game board is the town of West Chester. I couldn't do it though without the help of my two sons Scott and Wayne Zukin."
Scott Zukin, who is in charge of the West Chester division, has a major hand in the rebuilding of West Chester just like his father Stan. His other son Wayne Zukin handles the Philadelphia division of Zukin Realtors.
One thing that sets the newly prospected hotel away from any other building in West Chester is project "LEED." This means that the hotel is the latest in energy conservation and environment design with geothermal heating throughout the hotel, making it very green-friendly.
The hotel will include banquet rooms and meeting rooms. Also, as progress continues Zukin will continue to look into a possible shuttle service to the University available to all guests. The company's main goal will be to continue to preserve the history of West Chester and provide the best of service to everyone of their clientele.
Over the years Zukin realtors has provided housing to numerous students at many of the most up kept living spaces available in the town. Their company owns over 50 properties that they rent yearly to many students at the University.
"Making history by preserving history" is the motto for Zukin and they pride themselves in the restoration of the historic town. The rooms will be spacious and the goal will be to have many of the rooms facing the most attractive parts of town. When open, the hotel will be placed at 29-39 East Gay Street.
The property is still going through approval with the West Chester Borough and the scheduled date for it to open is not yet available.
The Zukin Realtor is located at 121 E. Gay Street and they can be reached at 610-696-0953 or by website at www.zukinrealtyinc.com.
