The West Chester women's softball team continued their stellar season by capping off a 5-3 week to set a school record of 29 season victories, surpassing the 28 wins the 1996 squad achieved. They earned that record this week by dominating both games of a double header against a non-conference opponent and splitting with the conference foes.

The week began at Mansfield as Ashley Saussaman (4-2) tossed the first four innings in the 5-1 victory and got the win. Shannon Padula closed out the game with three shutout innings. Mansfield was able to salvage game two of the double header 3-2. Padula (19-7) suffered the loss but did manage to pitch a complete game and struck out four.

The second set of games saw West Chester play host to out-of-conference opponent Columbia Union. The Lady Rams won both games in five innings, the first 9-0 and the second 12-0. In game one, Padula nailed down her 20th win of the season and her battery mate, catcher Alisha DiMarzio, swung the biggest stick of the game going 2-2 with three RBI's.

Game two saw Brittany Rees (1-1) pick up her first win of the year on the eve of her first start of the season. DiMarzio continued her hot hitting with a two-run homerun in the second inning (her fourth on the year) and hit a sacrifice fly in the third. On the day, DiMarzio went 3-3 with six RBI's. Also in the nightcap, cleanup hitter Meghan Harbaugh hit her sixth homerun of the year to leadoff the third inning.

The girls struggled at East Stroudsburg, getting swept 2-0 and 11-2 in the doubleheader. Saussaman took the loss for West Chester as her record dropped to 4-3 on the season. East Stroudsburg's pitchers were on the mark as they gave up only two runs all day, both in game two of the double header. Padula started game two for the Lady Rams but lasted only 1.2 innings after getting rocked for eight hits and nine runs (eight earned) while walking none and striking out one. Rees pitched the final 2.1 innings giving up seven hits and two runs (both earned) as West Chester fell in five innings.
