After Friday night's first Presidential debate, Democrats envisioned a clear victory for Barack Obama. Republicans envisioned a clear victory for John McCain. Ron Paul supporters were probably happy he wasn't invited to participate in the craziness of the first debate.

Recent ban: Smoker's Rights go up in flames

Cigarette smoking is one of the most unhealthy and most disgusting habits that we still engage in. It makes clothing, hair, and fingers reek of tobacco. It can bring lung and mouth cancer, emphysema, and has brought most smokers chronic bronchitis. It is also the right of every American over the age of 18.

To the Editor: The law that was passed by Pennsylvania to, "clean up the air," in public places is a good law. Smoking causes more deaths in every country around the world than I would care to think about. This is because I am a smoker. But, the banning of smoking cigarettes outside of the buildings on campus has in my opinion gone one step too far.

It is interesting how many things are considered a "disorder" these days. To some people who have lived with a disorder all their lives are now finding that there are ways to help cope with many of them. Perhaps a disorder many students have but do not know about is social anxiety disorder (SAD).

Economic bail-out

If you haven't been watching the news, listening to the radio, or reading a newspaper lately, you may not have heard; apparently, the United States economy just jumped off a cliff. Suddenly, all those banks, private investment firms and large mortgage companies stopped making boatloads of money and found out all that the money they were making wasn't really there.
