For any student here on our busy campus is the Lunchbox food truck. On any given weekday, students can be seen lining up on Church Street for a quick bite in between classes, and the Lunchbox is rightfully one of the most popular spots for breakfast, lunch and even dinner.

One of the greatest appeals of the Lunchbox is the variety that you’re able to receive at any time of the day. They proudly and efficiently serve all of their items at your request, and the numerous options give customers something different to try every time.

Specifically, the Lunchbox serves American and Thai food, and customers can treat themselves to delicious entrees like burgers, wraps, sandwiches, cheese steaks, chicken sandwiches, salads, pad Thai, chicken teriyaki and, of course, breakfast sandwiches. All items can be made to order and are usually served quickly to accommodate the busy schedules of students. Fries and a drink are often included with each meal combo, and if you’re looking for an extra boost, the truck is always stocked with Red Bull and other energy drinks to help get you through the day.

I recently had the pleasure of ordering one of my favorites from freshman year and was not disappointed. Back when I could afford to eat at the food trucks every day, I would always order a grilled ham and cheese combo with an extra hash brown, because potatoes are life’s greatest joy.

A lot can happen in four years, but the food at the Lunchbox is still as mouthwatering as it was when I first stepped onto West Chester’s campus.

Nestled in between two slices of white bread (or wheat, if that’s what you’re into), a hefty amount of meat and cheese are melted perfectly together to deliver a mouthful of goodness with every bite.

Just in case your palette is more sophisticated than my own, the Lunchbox’s Asian options are also very highly regarded.

Carly Pomerantz, a senior here at West Chester University, has been eating at the Lunchbox for years. Her favorite dish, tofu pad Thai, is one of their signature options. Pad Thai is a stir-fried rice noodle dish that is commonly served in Thailand as a street food and is usually made with rice noodles, bean sprouts, peanuts, chicken, shrimp or tofu.

Additionally, if you’re looking for something on the healthier side, they serve a large assortment of wraps and salads that are quite savory.

David Adoni, another senior at WCU, swears by their BLT wrap because “it’s a light meal and tastes great.”

Unlike the other food trucks on campus, the Lunchbox is open for the majority of the day with hours from 9 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., Monday through Thursday, and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Fridays. Unfortunately, the business is closed on Saturdays and Sundays, which is a true shame, because nothing would satisfy West Chester students more than being able to order from their favorite food truck seven days a week.
